We are still here for you.
Oswego Vet wants you to have peace of mind and feel as safe as possible when you bring your pets to us for care. Please see below for changes we are instituting in order to protect the health of our clients and staff while caring for our patients during the COVID-19 outbreak.
While our knowledge of this virus is limited, we currently feel that pets are at low risk for being carriers and our primary concern lies with human exposure. The AVMA has a good link on what we know so far in pets – https://www.avma.org/resources-tools/animal-health-and-welfare/covid-19
We have adjusted our hours of operation as part of a short term strategy to limit exposure for our clients and staff. Our website, voice mail message, and social media platforms will make every effort to keep updated business hours posted throughout any temporary changes.
Services at the clinic are now car-side only in order to adhere to personal distancing recommendations and the executive direction from the Governor. We have the flexibility to offer euthanasias and quality of life visits in our outdoor exam room or as house-calls as long as we are able to keep some social distancing. We will do our best in all situations to work with you and your pet.
Our boarding and grooming departments are closed until further notice. We will start rescheduling everyone as soon as things are looking brighter and the direction from Governor Brown regarding elective services is lifted.
Please call us if you have any questions and know that we are here for you and will help in ANY way we can. We’re happy to help with non-pet related tasks too if we can – especially if you are in a situation where you have no one else to call. We will be here for you!
Additionally, we have coordinated with a local physician to be a drop-off site for PPE donations (unopened boxes of surgical or N95 masks, exam or surgery gloves, gowns, face or eye protection, etc.). Just set it on the bench outside our front door between 10 am and 4 pm Monday through Saturday and tap on the door before you leave to let us know it’s out there. They will then be delivered to local hospitals or one of the drop off sites downtown.
Thank you so much for your cooperation. Working together we can help our clinic and our community stay as safe and healthy as possible!
Make the most of this extra time with your pets, and don’t hesitate to call us if you have any questions.
