To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Emergency cases will always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.
Patient Arrivals
For the safety and comfort of all of our patients, all dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled while in the building or on the grounds. All cats, birds and other exotic pets should be transported in an appropriate carrier or on a leash. If your pet is particularly nervous or aggressive away from home, please discuss the situation with a receptionist so she can help you plan for a safe and low-stress visit. Alternatives that can help include scheduling your appointment for the first slot of the day to ensure a rapid check-in or having a nurse help you and your pet in from your car.
For your convenience, "Medical Admit" appointments are available. A "Medical Admit" means you bring your pet at the time that works best for you and leave him or her with us for a couple of hours. Usually we will ask you to drop off sometime in the morning so our doctors can examine the patient in between appointments or at the time specifically reserved for admitted patients. Once the doctor is done, she will give you a call to go over the diagnosis and to give you discharge instructions. Please be certain to leave a phone number where you can be reached. Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. This is one of the reasons we ask you to restrain your pet. We request that animals be placed on a leash or in pet carriers before entering the waiting room.
